Olaf is a Commanding Officer enlisted in the Blue Moon army. He is the commander of the Blue Moon forces in Advance Wars and Advance Wars 2. He works well with Grit, and has a high Tag Power rating with him.

Role
In Advance Wars
Olaf leads the Blue moon forces that invaded Orange Star, manipulated by Sturm. When the invasion was driven back he is said to meet up with Sturm, causing Grit and Sonja to catch the trail of the enigma orchestrating the events across Cosmo Land. Olaf later realises his mistake and can be one of the COs in the final battle depending on which missions you cleared earlier in the campaign.
In Advance Wars 2
As commander of the Blue Moon forces Olaf leads them to halt the Black Hole invasion led by Lash. During this invasion his home town is ravaged by Lash, an atrocity he has yet to forgive her for. After the liberation of Blue Moon Olaf can be used in CO select missions in the Yellow Comet, Green Earth and Black Hole Campaigns.
In Advance Wars Dual Strike
Olaf makes no formal appearance in Advance Wars DS. However, he is cloned and utilized against the Allied Nations during the Omega Land war. Upon completion of the campaign, he is available for use in the Hard Campaign.

Olaf is adept at winter weather, and is capable in snow; however, he is not too fond of rain and his units suffer.

Day-to-Day (D2D) Olaf's units suffer no movement penalties in snow, though units in rain suffer movement penalties other COs experience in snow.
CO Power Blizzard Snow falls for one day. All units get the standard 10% boost in attack and defense.
