User Profile

Basic Information

Like the title says, this box shows the most basic info about a user. User name, group membership(s), and the number of edits a user has made are shown here. The time of registration is also shown. Click the bottom link to change your password, and you can check the box to keep your account logged in.

Signature

A signature is a bit of code used to attach a comment with the user who wrote it. Please remember to sign all comments with four tildes (~~~~). This will use the code that you have stored in the "New Signature" box. A signature should have at least two links — one to your userpage, and one to your talk page. A basic signature will look something like this:

[[User:Lord Sturm|Lord]] [[User talk:Lord Sturm|Sturm]]

This will show up as Lord Sturm. Add the code to the box, and check the box marked "Treat signature as wikitext" for it to work properly.

E-mail options

Adding an e-mail address is optional, but doing so is necessary for resetting the password. After authenticating an e-mail address, checking the boxes here will send you an e-mail notification when your talk page or other pages on your watchlist are changed.

Appearance

Skins

Using different skins will change how the wiki looks to you. "MonoBook" is the default.

Files

Use the two drop-down menus here to change the default image sizes.

Advanced options

These options involve link and text formatting.

Date and time

Choose your preferred date format, then use the drop-down box to select your time zone.

Editing

The left box allows you to specify the size of the edit box when editing a page. The right box shows other editing options. It is recommended to check the box marked "Show edit toolbar". When editing a page, a toolbar showing a group of useful characters will appear under the edit box; simply click on something to add it to the box.

Recent changes

These options let you specify both the number of days, and the number of edits to show on the Recent Changes page.

Watchlist

If you authenticated an e-mail address, you will be notified when any pages on your watchlist have been changed.

Search options

Changing the values here will modify the results page when you search for an article. It is recommended to check the "Search in all namespaces" box to avoid unintentionally skipping over a result.

Misc

These settings determine how to show the text of a page when viewing a difference between a page's versions.
